Senior Accountant Location: Raleigh, NC - IN OFFICEMichael & Son Services, a leading provider of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Restoration services, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Raleigh, NC. This role supports financial operations by ensuring accurate accounting processes and compliance with company policies.Position OverviewWe're looking for an experienced accountant who wants more than just checking boxes and processing transactions. This role gives you the opportunity to own key accounting processes, improve how the team works, and become a go-to resource for the accounting department. Key ResponsibilitiesOwn month-end close and improve the process so it's accurate, consistent, and on time.Own account reconciliations and establish clear, standardized procedures.Prepare and review journal entries and financial reports.Analyze variances and dig into the reasons behind them.Coach and support other members of the accounting team.Identify and fix process problems instead of simply working around them.Support audits, tax work, system improvements, and other accounting projects.Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related fieldFive -Seven years of experience of progressive accounting experienceStrong experience with month-end closing proceduresStrong Excel skillsSomeone who takes ownership, finds root causes, and looks for better processesSomeone who can explain accounting concepts clearly and help others improveNice to have: Sage Intacct, Service Titan, lease accounting, revenue recognition, or experience in MEP, construction, or the tradesBenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) Retirement Plan with company matchLife InsuranceEmployee DiscountFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Paid Time Off (PTO)Competitive Salary - 75K - 80K but negotiable DOEApply TodayWe provide a supportive team-oriented environment where your contributions are valued.
