Job Description

Major duties include but not limited to:

• Manages the lifecycle of non-expendable assets in the VA HCS and supported catchment area.
• Conducts short, mid and long-term advanced planning for new and replacement NX assets, utilizing enterprise-wide computerized planning tools.
• Analyzes data to include projected lifecycle, down time, repair rates, lost workload, cost, depreciation, trade-in value and other factors which impact procurement decisions.
• Advanced planning requires significant interaction and coordination with service lines, biomedical engineering, and other stakeholders to balance competing priorities including clinical requirements, technological advancements, and budget constraints.
• Computes requirements for equipment, inventory items.
• Utilizes a range of well-established and commonly applied inventory principles, standard and non-standard methodologies, and concepts to determine need to intervene in the supply system in response to fluctuations in rates of usage, cost, availability for established suppliers, alternative sources of supply and other similar conditions.
• Participates in strategic planning.
• Develops and supports the creation of acquisition strategies and standardization initiatives.
• Conducts data/information analysis for acquisition planning.
• Assists customers in the creation of Performance Work Statements for equipment procurement.
• Perform equipment procurement.
• Reviews and reports back to Fiscal on listings of delinquent payments and receipts of equipment purchase orders.
• Corresponds with procurement officials, vendors, project engineers and other stakeholders of hazardous materials disposal.
• Disposes of surplus or excess property.
• Acts as the Custodial Official for VA during the sale process and until property is removed from the assignment area.
• Performs inventory management control.
• Manages and controls NX assets for a VA HCS and supported catchment area.
• Serves as a subject matter expert to all services and service lines.
• Ensures equipment accountability.
• Resolves inventory problems.
• Identifies and rectifies asset management issues with other services.
• Travel may be required to perform equipment management duties, transferring of equipment.

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule: 8:00-4:30 Monday - Friday.
