Part-Time Assistant Manager

The Part-Time Assistant Manager supports the Manager in the daily operation of the Kennedy Home Greater Vision Outreach Center. Primary responsibilities include client advising, warehouse and marketplace operations, visitor supervision, inventory control, food-donation coordination, safety, reporting, and community engagement. This role works closely with churches, nonprofit organizations, donors, and community partners to advance the ministry's purpose.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and software used to enter and maintain client information.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize priorities, complete multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate with the ministry team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements described below.
• Meets the general qualifications for employment as outlined in the institution's personnel policies.
• Must have a valid N.C. driver's license, safe driving record, and periodically travel to agency and other locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a commitment to servant evangelism and ministry in local and statewide communities.

• Work independently and make sound decisions to support efficient client advising, marketplace maintenance, and warehouse operations.
• Represent BCH and Greater Vision positively at outreach events and in the community.

• Report to the Manager of Greater Vision Outreach Ministry and fulfill Manager duties during absences.
• Establish performance goals with the supervisor and participate in 90-day and annual evaluations.
• Keep the supervisor informed, request guidance when needed, and complete assigned training.
• Support agency Performance Quality Improvement activities and maintain cooperative relationships with visitors and community partners.
• Guide clients through applications, develop Client Action Plans, provide appropriate ministry support, coordinate referrals, and maintain accurate Charity Tracker records.
• Answer calls, greet clients, and provide responsive service.
• Maintain safety protocols, record freezer and cooler temperatures, and coordinate equipment maintenance or repairs.
• Receive, sort, date, store, and rotate donations using first-in, first-out inventory practices.
• Coordinate deliveries and pickups and assist donors with unloading.
• Supervise and train visitors.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with community partners and donors.
• Assist the Manager with administrative duties and required reporting.
• Maintain working knowledge of agency structure, services, procedures, job requirements, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
• Safely operate standard office and warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks.
• Complete agency and state-required training as directed.

Skills and Working Conditions:

• Proficiency with standard office equipment and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to read, write, complete documentation, present information clearly, and respond professionally to stakeholders.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions and draw appropriate conclusions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with agency policies and applicable privacy requirements.

Regular contact with colleagues in all departments, as well as with outside individuals and groups; should represent Baptist Children's Homes of NC, Inc. in a positive manner. Contacts outside of the agency where proper handling of situations is of utmost importance as the agency's image could be affected.

Excellent mathematical skills and the ability use a calculator to calculate figures.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and ability to draw conclusions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear both in personal and on the telephone.
