Structural Engineer

Location: Birmingham, AL Duration: 12+ months

Required:

Bachelor's in Civil Engineering
5+ years of structural steel & reinforced concrete design
Industrial/commercial structural engineering experience
Foundation design experience
Knowledge of AISC, ASCE, ACI, AWS, OSHA
Experience with steel connections and reinforced concrete design
Familiarity with STAAD Pro, ANSYS, MathCAD, AllPile/LPILE/FAD Tools
Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills

Preferred:

EIT or PE License
Seismic, wind, and vibration analysis
Transmission line/substation structure design

Key Responsibilities:

Design substation and transmission line structures, steel, and concrete foundations.
Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and material requirements using CAD tools.
Perform structural analysis and reinforced concrete/steel design.
Support construction, maintenance, field services, and project management.
Conduct site visits, participate in design reviews, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Guide designers/drafters and support engineering standards and safety initiatives.
