As part of a leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, you'll help create a nurturing space where our members' children play, learn, and thrive every day.Available ShiftsWe currently have part-time openings across the following schedules (Monday–Friday):11:45am – 5:30pm (Toddler classroom)6:30am – 12:30pm (Floater, various classrooms)7:30am – 1:30pm (Preschool classroom)Let us know your availability and preferred age group when you apply — we'll match you to the shift that fits best.What You'll DoWorking alongside your classroom's Lead Teacher, you'll help bring daily learning activities to life while keeping children safe, engaged, and cared for. Your day-to-day will include:Partnering with the Lead Teacher on classroom planning, activities, and supervisionHelping with feeding, dressing, and daily routines that support each child's growthEncouraging emotional, social, and physical development in a warm, positive environmentWatching for signs of developmental concerns and communicating with families as neededGuiding behavior using age-appropriate, positive discipline strategiesModeling healthy habits — mealtime, rest time, and hygiene routinesKeeping the classroom clean, sanitized, and ready for kidsTracking daily records: observations, activities, meals, and any medications givenCompleting point-of-service meal countsParticipating in annual CACFP trainingPitching in on other classroom duties as they come upCompliance & StandardsThis role supports Countryside YMCA's commitment to Step Up to Quality, USDA/CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program), and ODJFS licensing requirements.What You BringHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience working with children preferred (not required)First Aid/CPR certification preferred; if not already certified, must obtain within 30 days of hire and stay currentAbility to pass a criminal background checkStrong communication skills with children, parents, and coworkersPatience, warmth, and genuine enjoyment of working with kidsA solid understanding of early childhood development and teaching strategiesPhysical DemandsThis role involves extended periods of standing and frequent bending, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
