Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

iTrust Wellness , LLC is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at our Anderson location to provide medication management services through a hybrid in-office and telepsychiatry model. We have expanded our practice throughout the Upstate and are looking for a practitioner who is interested in utilizing the latest research, technology, and practice guidelines to achieve and maintain wellness for our clientele. An ideal candidate has an excellent knowledge of pharmacology, a desire for continued educational opportunities, a passion for choosing the most appropriate medication for clients, and confidence in creating evidence-based treatment plans through a scientific and collaborative approach. Clinical Excellence & Patient Care Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessing bothmental and physical statusbased on presenting symptoms and complaints. Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions,differentiating between physiological and psychological factorsto ensureaccuratetreatment planning. Developcomprehensive treatment plansthat integrate psychotropic medications, psychotherapeutic techniques, and holistic wellness principles. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medicationsin accordance withstate and federal regulationsand collaborative practice agreements. Monitor treatment effectiveness,adjust medication regimens as needed, and educate patients on medication adherence, side effects, and wellness strategies. Utilizeappropriatepsychotherapeuticinterventionsas complementary approaches to medication management, promoting overall well-being. Educate patients and family members about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, and treatment plans. Assess andmanage psychiatric emergencies and crises,facilitatingappropriate transitionsto emergency care or inpatient facilities when needed. Schedule follow-up appointments based onmedication efficacy timelines and company policies, ensuring continuity of care. Compliance & Professional Standards Thoroughly document patients’ medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes, closing notes within72 hours. Select and bill thecorrect procedural and diagnostic codes (CPT, ICD-10)based on appointment complexity and payer requirements (insurance vs. self-pay). Adhere strictly tostate and federal laws, HIPAA guidelines,and company policiesregardingpatient privacy and controlled substance prescribing. Adhere strictly to CMS guidelinesregardingbilling and coding,operatingcompliantly under the expectations to avoid fraud,waste, and abuse. Ensure ongoing compliance withlicensure and board certification requirements, includingtimelyre-certification. Participate inchart reviews, peer collaboration, and quality assurance initiativesto uphold best practices and improve patient outcomes. TeamCollaboration & Continuous Learning Work closely with an interdisciplinary team ofboth external andinternal staff to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Engage inregular case consultations and team meetingsto discuss complex cases, refine treatment approaches, and share best practices. Stay updated onadvancements in psychiatric treatment, medication management, and holistic wellness approachesthrough continuing education and professional development. Contribute to aculture of learning and excellence,seekingassistancefrom leaders as is beneficialand providing guidance to colleagues whenappropriate. Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Promptly upscale patient issues and individual concerns with management.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited university or college. Active board certification through national certifyingbody asrecognized by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or Board of Medical Examiners. Active license to practice as an APRN or Physician Assistant in South Carolina with prescriptive authority. Previousexperience managing conditions within the psychiatric scope of practice preferred. Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite, the EMR systemutilized, and other relevant software. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to ascend or descend stairs, ramps, and the like. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Must be able to move about toaccomplishvarious tasks or move from one worksite to another. Must be able to occasionally adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds in all directions. Must be able to repeat motions that may include the wrists,handsand/or fingers. Must be ableto tolerateenvironments with moderate levels of noise.
