Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN with a PA or compact license and 3+ years of cardiac surgery experience for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Staffing ratio of 1:2
• Floating to other OR services (General, Urology, ENT) required when cardiac volume is low, averaging once a week
• On-call requirement of 4 call shifts per 13-week contract with varying days and hours
• No holiday requirement
• Uses Epic charting system
• First week orientation is 5x8 hour shifts (Mon-Fri), transitioning to 12-hour shifts if additional orientation is needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required, including at least 2 years in CVOR specialty
• Must be able to scrub and circulate cardiac surgery cases
• Experience required with CABGs, aortic/mitral valve repairs and replacements, heart transplants, dissections, and LVADs
• Experience with vascular/thoracic procedures (EVAR, TEVAR, TCAR, open AAA) preferred
• Valid professional references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide scrub and circulating nursing support for complex cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
• Scrubs are provided
• First-time travelers are accepted with appropriate experience
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a different rate
• PA fingerprints and Childline clearance required, which may involve travel and processing time
