Overview:

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 14-week temporary position in the Stepdown/Intermediat Care Unit. The position offers a rate of $75/hr and requires 2 or more years of recent RN bedside Stepdown/Intermediat Care Unit experience.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Meets and maintains any requirements defined by a specific specialty.

Education

• RN Degree - ADN, BSN or MSN

Certification/Licensure

• Valid RN License to practice in Virginia
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Experience

• MUST have AT LEAST 2 yrs of RECENT bedside RN experience in STEPDOWN/INTERMEDIATE CARE UNIT
• EPIC documentation system experience required
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS REQUIRED
