Job Location Louisiana, LA Job Summary We’re looking for a strong leader to oversee field operations on solar and renewable energy projects throughout New Mexico and beyond. This role is responsible for crew leadership, safety, quality control, project efficiency, training, and overall jobsite readiness. Responsibilities Crew Safety – maintain a vigilant focus on safety training, safety awareness, and an overall culture of safety among all field employees. Avoidable accidents should be eliminated to the greatest extent possible. Customer Satisfaction/Experience – ensure that all crew members promote customer experience. Installation Quality – have a definite idea of the quality standards and enforce them rigorously; correction notices should be minimized, and an overall culture of quality maintained. Installation Efficiency (Cost per Watt) – actively monitor monthly installation cost per watt and identify measures to reduce these costs where practical while not conflicting with safety or quality. Production Capacity and Readiness – focus on the number of installed kilowatts per crew per day; acceptable minimums and desired goals discussed at recurring operations meetings with the Construction Manager and General Manager. Employee Morale and Retention – maximize morale and retention as measured by crew member annual turnover (single digit desired). Training Level/Certification – monitor crew training and certification and actively pursue; brief GM and Construction Manager at least quarterly. Vehicles and Stocked Materials – responsible for readiness of installation fleet and levels of truck stock. Activities to Promote Performance Goals Weekly After‑Action Reports – document issues experienced on specific jobs to provide a feedback loop to engineering and design teams. Review of Upcoming Jobs – review jobs at least one week in advance to identify issues in design, materials, labor, or resources. Truck Stock/Equipment Storage – maintain visibility on truck stock levels to reduce trips to supply outlets. Vehicle/Truck Stock – program to ensure vehicles receive routine maintenance and inspection of storage areas and truck stock. Meetings – conduct routine meetings to train crew on company accounting controls for fuel, truck stock, or other accountable items. Supervisory Responsibilities Provides coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Qualifications Experience installing or managing solar PV construction projects. Strong understanding of grid-tied PV system design. Previous field management or foreman experience. Strong leadership skills – ability to organize, utilize and motivate team members quickly to respond to changes in the construction schedule and scope. Ability to read, understand, and edit (red-line) electrical and structural plans. Good at problem solving and implementing site-specific design modifications. Strong understanding of electrical wiring, theory, and the trade. Strong understanding of the NEC Code and the ability to reference the code as required. Knowledge of Universal Building Codes and building materials and techniques. Experience supervising and managing subcontractors in other trades. Experience working with city/county permitting offices and inspectors. Proficiency on a computer in MS Office (Emphasis on Excel, Outlook, and web-based data). Ability to work long hours as required for the installation crews to work to optimal efficiency. 100% field work and must be willing to travel to various locations as required within and outside of New Mexico.
