APPS Paramedical APPS Paramedical is one of the largest paramedical companies in the United States, offering nationwide coverage as we complete insurance physicals for people applying for life, health, or disability insurance products. The Austin office for APPS is looking for quality medical professionals to help us complete these exams in a timely, professional manner on behalf of the insurance company to which the policy is being applied. Job Summary Our independent contractors (ICs) are self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision while completing quality exams using their medical knowledge. These exams are conducted on a mobile basis in the home or office of the client and may involve blood draws, medical histories, signatures on packets, vital signs, saliva samples, and 12‑lead EKGs. They must be committed to following all compliance and safety policies and procedures while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality when gathering client information. Exams can last from 15 minutes to a little over an hour depending on requirements. Hours Set your schedule! We offer exams 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year. Most of our contractors have full‑time jobs and use this as an opportunity to make even more money each month. We schedule your appointments for you, so you can focus on what you do best—medical exams. Reimbursement You are reimbursed every two weeks by direct deposit for each exam you complete. Territory Set your territory by choosing the zip codes you will work within. Orientation We provide a 6‑hour orientation to verify your skills as well as show you the paperwork and website used by our ICs. Equipment Reliable vehicle, scale, two measuring tapes (one cloth), blood pressure cuff, tablet or laptop with touch screen capability, internet access, and printer. Centrifuge, and EKG machine (can be purchased or rented from us for $5/mo). Use of your equipment will be considered but is not guaranteed. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience and familiarity with taking vital signs. Familiarity with tablets, computers, and scanners is a must. Preferred experience with pediatric and geriatric patients or home health. EKG experience is preferred, but not required. References will be checked, and a background check and drug test are required. Education Preferred High school diploma or equivalency.
