Mental Health CoordinatorThe goal of the Mental Health Coordinator is to proactively support members before they begin to struggle by building preventative systems. The Mental Health Professional provides an array of services for youth who need additional support and guidance with their social, emotional, and mental wellbeing. This position will be vital in supporting our Club members through a strong multi-faceted approach including; weekly check-ins, use of trauma-informed care model, broad based assessments, support groups, restorative practices, parent education, peer interaction, positive behavior support, etc. Through collaboration with school district staff, Department of Social Services, Human Services Center, BGCNW staff, and other community supports, the Mental Health Professional will work with BGCNW members and families to provide support, guidance, and connect them with resources in the community.Starting Salary: $40,000-$45,000 AnnuallyResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions & AccountabilitiesPrimary DutiesOversight of Case Management activities and documentation of interactions and support for youth.Provide individual and group support services.Regular communication with school, parent/guardian, club staff as needed, and/or community support services.Documentation of all client contact and session notes.Produce monthly reports to the Director of Operation and Executive Director.Provide information referrals.Encourage parent/guardian involvement in the Club and with the School.Ensure all programs and activities occur as scheduled.Handles crisis situations and takes action to resolve conflicts, disputes and/or concerns of club members, and/or parents in conjunction with the Program Director.Staff DevelopmentEvaluate Club programming and BGCNW staff to develop appropriate training for staff to support the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of Club members.Community Relations & Collaborative PartnershipsParticipates in activities to maintain good public relations for the club's programs and services.Active in the community where the club is located with schools, service clubs and forms partnerships.Collaborates with community leaders to support club-initiated programs and activities.Supports organization's fundraising initiatives.Purchases program supplies within the BGCNW's yearly budget.Club Facility and PropertyAssesses risk and implements programs and policies to minimize loss and exposure to loss.Plans and takes action to ensure the club is safe, attractive, and well-maintained.AdministrativeEnsures information and other data maintained on Case Management are accurate and timely; prepares club's reports in an accurate and timely manner.Demonstrate responsibility in regard to work schedule, meetings & trainingsKeep equipment, binder, and supplies in order, well maintained, and in the proper locationComplete and submit paperwork accurately (timesheets, lesson plans, certifications, etc.)Dress in appropriate attire/uniformMaintain a positive attitude while working, help wherever needed, work well with co-workersDisplay good customer service skillsAccept feedback and makes necessary correctionsOtherPerform miscellaneous tasks as requested by supervisorAbility to relate well to children and previous experience working with children requiredMeet weekly with the Director of Operations and Executive DirectorMay oversee special programs and/or events (i.e. Keystone, Youth of the Year and Jr. Staff, and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary.Preferred Skills/KnowledgeBachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or other related fields.Real world experience with trauma sensitivity and mental health framework.The ability to approach this position through an equity lens, working with students and families to meet their needs and connect them to community resources.The ability to use a wide range of evidence based strategies to ensure that members are physically and mentally growing.The ability to build relationships within and between systems to enhance development for students, clubs, schools, teachers, and parents/guardians.Possess knowledge, skills, and experience related to members with special education needs and other special populations.Possess knowledge, skills, and experience related to alcohol and other drug issues, parent education models, and community and family systems.The ability to teach social and coping skills.The ability to work proactively to support members before they begin to struggle.Comfortable working in a fluid environment focused on continuous improvement.Relationships:Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions;
