Child Nutrition Program Assistant

JOB TITLE: CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM ASSISTANT MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent * Jefferson County Department of Health food handler certification * Valid Background Check * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as state, federal, and local law and Empower Community School may require REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Manager or designee JOB GOAL: To serve students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Demonstrate support for the school system and its vision, mission, goals, and priorities * Food preparation * Knows daily menu requirements * Follows daily food preparation schedule * Follows recipes * Knows when to begin food preparation * Knows how to store prepared food before serving * Prepares assigned dishes * Food storage * Assures that food is stored at appropriate temperatures * Maintains a first in/first out (FIFO) procedure for moving food from storage * Maintains a record of food taken from storage * Serving line * Serves students and staff in a friendly manner * Serves prescribed portions to all customers * Serves a neat and attractive tray
