Director of Nursing (DON)Duration: Full timeJob ResponsibilitiesThis position serves as a department nursing liaison with the Board of Supervisors, Chief Executive Office, and other county departments.Responsible for strategic planning and policy development for nursing resources and administration, including recruitment, retention, training, and leadership development for the Client with general direction from the Client Executive Leadership.Responsible for ensuring that service excellence goals are met through integration of nursing services with those of the administrative and other medical professional services of the Client, including the establishment of appropriate levels of care and staffing ratios which meet regulatory and accreditation standards, and development and implementation of inpatient, clinical, managed care, and other departmental nursing services.Formulates and recommends policies and objectives, designs and implements strategic direction, and advises the Client Executive Leadership in all major nursing decisions to maximize the Client' clinical and operational efficiency.EducationBachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or clinical specialty.Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.Licenses/CertificationRegistered Nurse in the state.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in healthcare administration/management.Minimum of 5 years' experience in hospital management in an inpatient, acute care environment.
