About the Position

Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med Surg (Medical Surgical) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: IN RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: - Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. - Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a large hospital setting (450+ beds). Description: Position requires a Registered Nurse to deliver general medical and surgical nursing care. This role involves caring for patients with chronic illnesses, gastrointestinal issues, infections, neurological conditions, and mental health disorders. Experience managing procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries is necessary. Duties include assessments, care planning, inter-professional communication, and utilization of electronic health records. Required skills include IV therapy management, wound care, and management of heparin and insulin drips. Candidate must be proficient in using electronic records, telemetry monitoring, IV pumps, and other medical equipment. Additional skills may include operating feeding pumps, utilizing chest tubes, and managing patient care related to various medical conditions. Expect to float to other medical units as needed, with patient ratios typically being 1:5-6. A successful candidate will exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. The dress code consists of Caribbean blue scrubs.
