Facilities Associate

Lake Center Christian School has an immediate need for a Facilities Associate. Objective: To support the smooth operation of a K-12 school by ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. Utilize skills in building maintenance, custodial services, and problem-solving to enhance the daily school experience, minimize disruptions, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards in line with school policies. Reports to: Director of Facilities, Safety, and Transportation or his/her designee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs day-to-day inspections, preventative maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment
• Performs cleaning activities
• Responds to emergency situations and evaluates and corrects issues
• Performs minor fixes
• Installs appliances and equipment
• Performs maintenance tasks
• Checks functionality of safety systems
• Collaborates with workers and other professionals during renovations
• Performs set-up and tear down for events
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Carpentry experience and/or construction experience

Skills:

• General knowledge and skill with hand and power tools
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Detail oriented
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:

• Sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, balance, crouch, kneel, crawl, ascend and lay horizontally as determined by task
• Climb, work and descend up to 18 feet on a ladder
• Work from mobile or fixed scaffolding
• Work from a scissor lift
• Push/pull up to 100 pounds
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly
• Physically handle working in all weather extremes
• Typical work schedule is from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
• Weekend work may occasionally be required
