POSITION TITLE: Speech Language Pathologist Aide FLSA: Exempt SALARY: $32,217 WORK DAYS: 190 REPORTS TO: Executive Director Program for Exceptional Students This posting is to recruit for existing vacancies and/or positions that become available at our various schools. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assists Speech Language Pathologists in executing specific components of a speech and language program as specified in treatment plan developed by the Speech Language Pathologist. Requirements Educational Level: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders Certification/License: Experience: None Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication, planning, organization Essential Functions Assists the SLP with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation. Assists the SLP during assessment of students, patients, and clients exclusive of administration and/or interpretation Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. Follows documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP. Documents student, patient, and client performance and reports this information to the supervising SLP. Programs and provides instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices. Assists with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities, as directed by the SLP. Performs checks and maintenance of equipment. Assists with departmental operations. Supports the supervising SLP in research projects, in-service training, public relations programs, and marketing programs.
