A Supervisor Pharmacy organizes and manages daily Pharmacy Department operations to ensure efficient, safe and timely accomplishment of established patient-focused duties and expectations. Troubleshoot internal department issues and implement appropriate resolutions. Act as liaison between Pharmacy and other healthcare professionals as necessary. Cover for absence of Pharmacy Manager.

A day in the life of a Supervisor of Pharmacy at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

• Responsible for achieving any accreditations necessary to remain operational or maximize revenues.
• Identifies and corrects potential problems and performs service recovery as needed.
• Troubleshoots daily interactions and instances that deviate from standard and require oversight or mediation for resolution.
• Assist Manager in development and implementation of process improvement projects within Pharmacy. Responsible for implementation of site quality assurance processes.
• Review, update and revise department policies to reflect professional standards of practice and progressive department development.
• Implement policies as necessary and assure all affected team members are appropriately informed.
• Manages and/or assists in the recruitment, development and supervision of team members.
• Creates and sustains an environment that fosters team member engagement.
• Establishes clear objectives tied to department and/or organizational strategic goals.
• Coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.
• Involved in the development and/or management of budget for assigned areas.
• Regularly monitors relevant key financial indicators and performance metrics, modifying business activities where needed in response to changing financial situations.
• Track, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics as needed and/or requested.
• Develop, recommend and/or implement actions or process improvements as appropriate.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Bachelors Degree in Science Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Hospital Pharmacy.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• PharmD preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Must be a NJ Licensed Pharmacist with an active license
