Associate Director, Tax

The Associate Director, Tax collaborates with many parts of the organization globally and will lead the Company’s various tax initiatives. This position will help develop best practices in the following areas: tax provision, transfer pricing, international tax structure and compliance, VAT, sales and use tax as well as miscellaneous business tax compliance. Success in this role is dependent on leadership, communication, project management, process improvement, strategic execution, and ability to perform in a rapidly changing business environment. Job Description Ownership of income tax provision including identifying and documenting uncertain tax positions and tax contingencies and all related footnotes and disclosures for the financial statements under IFRS. Responsible for cross-border tax transactions and reporting requirements. Responsible for M&A activities. Manage income tax compliance and audits. Research and monitor developments in US and international tax legislation, and potential effects on the Company. Collaborate with finance team to educate and ensure tax compliance. Manage outside service providers, including identifying issues and ascertaining technical research and memos. Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships with business stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Required Knowledge/ Experience and Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, management, and team building skills. Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills – including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate in a team-oriented environment. Ability to communicate complex/ambiguous concepts to non-tax teams. 10+ years of relevant experience Minimum of 6 years of Big 4 accounting experience, including managerial experience at senior manager and above Publicly traded company experience required Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Master’s degree in tax preferred. Licensed CPA Pay Range The starting base pay for this position in the San Francisco Bay area is as shown below. This role can be remote or hybrid. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
