Health and Safety Manager

The role: Health and Safety Manager Sector: Facilities Management - Retail Stores Location: Belgium Salary: €50,000 to €60,000 Languages: English and Dutch or French A leading facilities management provider is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support high-profile contracts operating within a retail environment. This role requires someone who understands the pace, terminology and compliance expectations of safety related operations.You will play a key role in embedding a strong safety culture across hard services and engineering delivery, ensuring compliance, consistency and continuous improvement. The Role Lead health & safety strategy across the contracts Ensure full compliance with EN ISO standards (45001) Act as the subject matter expert for safety within a live operational retail environment Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments across multiple sites Support operational teams in safe delivery of services within regulated environments Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions Engage with client stakeholders, ensuring alignment with safety expectations and standards Deliver training, toolbox talks and ongoing safety briefings Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and reporting About You Proven experience in a Safety Manager or senior HSEQ role within facilities management Working knowledge of EN ISO 45001 and EN ISO 9001 systems and compliance IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) Confident communicator, able to influence operational teams and senior stakeholders Proactive, detail-oriented and solutions-focused Comfortable working across multiple sites in a fast-paced, operational setting Experience & Skills Experience managing safety within high-footfall, public-facing environments Strong audit, reporting and compliance management capability Ability to build relationships with both internal teams and external clients Experience driving behavioural safety and cultural change initiatives This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile contract where safety is critical to operational success.The role offers real influence, autonomy and the chance to shape safety standards within a demanding and visible environment.
