Principal Security Engineer

Salary: $104,900 - 174,700 per year Requirements:

• We require 10+ years of IT security experience.
• We require a BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
• We require at least one relevant certification or license, such as CISSP, CISM, SANS, GIAC or related credentials, ethical hacking/penetration tester certification, or a security risk assessment certification.
• We need advanced knowledge of security environments.
• We need the ability to perform technical risk assessments for new applications and third parties.
• We need understanding of compliance and governance initiatives.
• We need experience analyzing security events for anomalous activity.
• We need the ability to identify emerging security threats.
• We need the ability to develop and implement security programs.
• We need experience with vulnerability assessment, threat analysis, and reporting.
• We need familiarity with security policies and their promotion.
• We need strong capability to monitor security systems for threats.
• We need installation and troubleshooting experience in web-based environments.
• We need strong organization, project planning, time management, change management, delegation, and prioritization skills across multiple teams and departments.
• We need advanced problem-solving experience leading teams through complex troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• We need strong verbal and written communication, customer service, interpersonal, and presentation skills for a wide range of audiences, including senior leadership.

• We provide strategic and tactical technical direction in key areas and advise management on technology-driven strategic decisions.
• We support the Information Security department by addressing escalations and evaluating technology controls.
• We research new threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation approaches.
• We design creative solutions that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our assets, information, data, and IT services.
• We conduct technical risk assessments, including vulnerability scans, penetration tests, risk reviews for new applications, and third-party risk assessments.
• We handle service requests from Business and Technology teams.
• We analyze and validate requirements, define access rules, script changes, and support troubleshooting for access issues.
• We review existing tools, applications, and processes to strengthen current capabilities and close gaps with technical solutions.
• We communicate problems and solutions clearly in both verbal and written formats to peers and management.
• We help achieve compliance, identify compliance initiatives, and author and promote security policies.
• We lead analysis of security events for anomalous activity and coordinate with peer groups to protect company information assets.
• We explore practical security solutions for emerging threats and compliance needs, including design and implementation.
• We develop and implement security programs, manage deliverables, communicate with stakeholders, and create procedures, flow diagrams, tools, and metrics.
• We maintain communication across the organization and with security contacts, including business units and subsidiary locations.
• We develop security awareness communications and share information on controls and newly identified risks.
• We assess and measure security programs to ensure closed-loop operations.
• We perform other duties as assigned.
