Traveling Superintendent

We're seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead commercial renovation projects across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for construction professionals who enjoy managing projects from start to finish, working independently, and traveling to diverse job sites. While travel is required, superintendents typically return home on weekends between assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities from project startup through closeout.
• Travel to assigned project locations throughout the region.
• Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, and project schedules.
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
• Proactively identify issues and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
• Conduct client and owner walkthroughs.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Partner with project managers and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of superintendent experience in commercial construction.
• Proven ability to manage projects independently.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout assigned territories.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Experience

• Multi-state project management experience.
• Experience working in occupied facilities.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• Background in commercial renovations, retail construction, scheduling, and project coordination.

This position requires regular travel and a flexible schedule. Evening, night, or weekend work may be required based on project needs. Between assignments, superintendents return to headquarters for planning and project coordination.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Hyde Park, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $48.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
