Revenue Cycle Manager

We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to lead and optimize all aspects of the revenue cycle for a fast-paced retina practice. This role is responsible for ensuring financial performance through effective management of billing, coding, collections, payer relations, and compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong ophthalmology/retina experience, a deep understanding of payer rules, and a proactive, data-driven approach to revenue cycle performance. Key Responsibilities Revenue Cycle Oversight Manage end-to-end revenue cycle operations including charge capture, coding, claim submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up Monitor KPIs such as days in A/R, denial rates, collection rates, and net revenue performance Implement workflows to improve cash flow and reduce revenue leakage Ensure accurate coding for retina and ophthalmology services (including surgical and in-office procedures) Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer regulations Oversee and perform internal audits and coordinate external audits as needed Denial Management & Collections Lead denial management strategy, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans Optimize processes for timely follow-up on outstanding claims and patient balances Collaborate with front office to improve eligibility, authorizations, and point-of-service collections Supervise billing, coding, and A/R staff Provide training, performance management, and ongoing development Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement Reporting & Analytics Prepare and present monthly financial and operational reports Analyze trends and identify opportunities for revenue growth and process improvement Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning Qualifications Required: Revenue cycle management experience in healthcare Experience in a leadership or supervisory role Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies Experience with EHR/PM systems (e.g., ModMed, NextGen, Epic, or similar) Preferred: Experience in ophthalmology or retina specialty practice Certification such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CPB, or CRCR and/or OCS/OCSR Familiarity with retina-specific procedures (e.g., injections, OCT, laser, vitrectomy billing) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy Excellent communication and leadership abilities Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with employer contribution Continuing education and certification support #J-18808-Ljbffr CAPE FEAR RETINAL ASSOCIATES, PC
