Position Overview and Responsibilities The Science Department seeks a physics teacher for grades 11 and 12 to teach five sections. The department fosters a dynamic, hands‑on learning environment where students engage directly with scientific principles in action. Instructors facilitate inquiry‑based exploration, guide students to formulate questions, analyze data, and interpret results, and support intellectual and personal growth. The role involves leading frequent lab investigations, connecting physics to real‑world contexts, and encouraging students to think critically and act responsibly. Skills and Competencies Content Expertise: Experience teaching physics and comfortable leading frequent lab investigations; interest in connecting physics to the local and global world outside the classroom. Communication Skills: Communicates consistently and effectively with parents, students, and colleagues. Inclusive Mindset: Demonstrates commitment to multiculturalism and diversity manifested in classroom practice, communication, and curricular decisions. Student‑Centeredness: Deep appreciation for student‑centered, engaging, and innovative teaching practices. Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in physics or a related field. 1–3 years of teaching experience in high school or middle school science (desirable). Physical Requirements Standing or sitting for long periods. Capacity to adapt to frequent position changes throughout the day. Hearing and speaking ability for in‑person and telephone communication. Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, computer keyboard, educational tools, and first aid/CPR. Adequate vision for close and distance tasks.
