Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician - perform and coordinate the daily maintenance and repair of the Districts water and wastewater systems.
This position plays an important role in ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operations through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, technical expertise, and coordination of field activities.
Position Highlights

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water and wastewater facilities, equipment, and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, valves, piping, mechanical equipment, and related systems
Assist with facility, equipment, and asset maintenance - Work with SCADA, PLC, and other operational control systems
- Coordinate with operations staff to support safe and reliable District services
- Respond to maintenance needs and emergency situations as required
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 35 years of experience in water and/or wastewater operations and maintenance
- Valid drivers license
- Applicable Montana DEQ Water and Wastewater certifications for the systems being operated
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience with water and sewer systems
- Experience with facility and asset maintenance management
- Experience with SCADA or PLC systems
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and reliable public service
