CT Technologist

Job Summary:


The Radiology / Cardiology CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT imaging and X-ray procedures primarily in a low volume inpatient rehabilitation and LTACH/ICU setting. The role involves operating GE and Siemens CT scanners, as well as Siemens, Fuji, and GE X-ray and C-arm equipment. The CT Tech will provide diagnostic imaging services, assist with patient care during procedures, and support facility staffing needs including floating between sites. This position requires strong technical skills, certification, and the ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform CT scans using GE 16 slice and other CT scanners.
• Operate portable X-ray equipment and C-arm devices for diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure quality imaging and accurate results.
• Document imaging procedures and patient information accurately in Epic system.
• Float between Providence Alaska Medical Center and other sites to meet staffing needs.
• Respond to on-call duties as scheduled, providing coverage 2-3 nights per week.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current BLS certification.
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience operating CT scanners and radiology equipment.
• Experience with GE and Siemens CT scanners and Siemens, Fuji, GE X-ray and C-arm equipment.
• Ability to use Epic electronic medical record system for charting.
• Valid licensure and certifications to perform radiologic procedures.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in inpatient rehabilitation, LTACH, or ICU settings.
• Familiarity with low volume imaging environments.
• Prior experience floating between multiple clinical sites.

Special Considerations:

• On-call requirement of 2-3 nights per week.
• Floating between Providence Alaska Medical Center and other nearby facilities (approximately 10 minutes apart).
• Time off requests limited to one per 13-week assignment and approved individually.
• Work in a low volume setting involving both CT and X-ray imaging.
• Parking provided at no cost.

Scheduling:

• 4x10 hour day shifts, primarily Monday through Thursday from 7am to 5pm.
• 70 guaranteed hours per two-week period with potential for one 10-hour shift call-off every two weeks.
• Block scheduling accommodations available.
