Financial Aid Advisor

Position Summary Germanna Community College is seeking a full-time Financial Aid Advisor to work in the Financial Aid Office at our Locust Grove Campus. The role provides direct assistance and support services to staff and students in‑person, virtually, and by phone. Work Schedule Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (or as scheduled). Telework options are subject to change based on business needs. Responsibilities Assist students and families with financial aid options. Process federal, state, and institutional financial aid applications and files in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Provide assistance in‑person, virtually, and by phone. Perform other duties as assigned. Assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Travel between campuses and to other college locations may be required. Qualifications Ability to work independently and analytically, exercise discretion and good judgment. Ability to handle a complex and detail-oriented workload. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff, including those from diverse backgrounds. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills. Strong organizational skills.Commitment to working with diverse colleagues, students, and community members. Additional Qualifications Experience in a post‑secondary education setting, preferably in a community college financial aid office. Bilingual in Spanish.
