Join the industry leader in commercial truck modification, specializing in transforming standard new trucks into auto transport trucks, steering conversions for municipal operations, and work trucks. With headquarters in Charlotte, we are expanding our product line with our major client and adding two additional assembly lines. We require skilled technicians to meet increased demand for decontenting and installations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct extensive assembly modification work based on printed picture work instructions.
• Perform basic line installations, such as adding a second steering wheel.
• Utilize hand and impact tools throughout the workday.
• Execute some electrical routing, primarily plug-and-play based on work instructions.
• Stage 1 involves decontenting and removing interior panels and equipment.
• Stage 2 includes modifying cab flooring and installing assembled RHD floor plates.
• Route under-cab airlines and trim kick plates and fenders.
• Stage 3 involves running pre-built wiring harness extensions and installing new modules.
• Perform mild harness repining.
• Stage 4 includes steering assembly installations, final switch layouts, and dash reassembly.

Essential Skills

• Heavy truck experience
• Pulling/Swapping Transmission
• Suspension Change
• Good automotive experience to some heavy truck experience
• Extensive tool set (air impacts, battery impacts, socket wrenches, drills, assortments of sockets and gaskets)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Rebuilding Transmission
• Wiring Experience (Plug and Play)

Work Environment

Our facility operates on a first shift schedule from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional extensions until 4:00 pm. Saturdays may require work on a one-off basis. The facility is clean and organized, although not climate controlled. Technicians will work independently in some departments and collaboratively with teams of 2-3 people in others.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
