Part-Time Payroll & AP Specialist

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Part-Time Payroll & AP Specialist for our partner, a well-established public-sector organization serving a Colorado community. This is a part-time, 3-month contract, based in Idaho Springs, CO. POSITION OVERVIEW The Payroll & AP Specialist will provide critical accounting support with primary responsibility for payroll processing, accounts payable, and related financial administration. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can quickly step into established processes, work independently, and maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. The initial assignment is expected to last approximately 90 days with the possibility of extension. PERKS Competitive pay of $36 - $41 per hour Flexible 20-hour-per-week schedule Ability to arrange hours within Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. 90-day contract with the possibility of extension Client-provided equipment and a streamlined one-step virtual interview process RESPONSIBILITIES Process biweekly payroll, including reviewing timekeeping information, calculations, employee deductions, payroll records, and related documentation. Support accounts payable by reviewing invoices, preparing payment information, maintaining vendor records, and assisting with timely vendor payments. Prepare and maintain payroll and accounting records, including quarterly and annual payroll tax information and annual 1099 reporting as assigned. Assist with employee benefits administration, financial recordkeeping, and reconciliation of payroll and related accounting information. Support audit preparation by organizing reports, documentation, and other financial records requested for review. Utilize Caselle and Microsoft Office to maintain accurate financial information, research discrepancies, and support recurring accounting processes. QUALIFICATIONS Hands-on experience processing payroll and accounts payable, with the ability to independently manage recurring financial responsibilities. Experience using Caselle is strongly preferred. General bookkeeping and accounting knowledge, including payroll records, vendor payments, reconciliations, and financial documentation. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office technology. Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This temporary position offers an hourly pay range of $36 - $41 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The assignment is expected to last approximately 90 days with the possibility of extension and will average approximately 20 hours per week, with significant scheduling flexibility within Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This position is fully onsite in Idaho Springs, Colorado, and all necessary work equipment will be provided by the employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr The Bronx Inc
