Occupational Medicine Director Fort Worth, TX Position Type: Part time (16-29 hours/week) 1099. FLSA Status: Non-exempt Education Level: MD or DO Job Category: Health Care Summary Vighter is recruiting an Occupational Medicine Director (Physician) to join our team and provide exceptional care at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Fort Worth, TX. The Occupational Medicine Director is responsible for the strategic, clinical, and operational leadership of the organization’s occupational health services. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective occupational medical programs that support employee health, workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. The Director oversees clinical protocols, provider performance, regulatory adherence, and client-facing occupational health services, including pre-employment screening, surveillance programs, injury management, return-to-work initiatives, and wellness integration. Principal Accountabilities Provides medical direction and oversight for all occupational health services, ensuring adherence to evidence-based clinical standards and best practices. Develops, reviews, and approves clinical protocols, standing orders, and treatment guidelines for occupational health programs. Evaluates health services provided by the BEPHU and makes recommendations to the COR about changes in service, as appropriate. Provides medical and administrative support to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) staff in connection with the BEP EAP. Serves as a member of BEP committees formed to determine BEP policy that may require input from the Medical Director. Ensures consistent clinical quality, patient safety, and standardization across all sites and contracts. Designs and implements occupational health programs aligned with organizational goals and client requirements. Leads initiatives related to injury prevention, workforce health optimization, and cost containment. Evaluates emerging trends in occupational medicine and integrates innovative practices into service delivery. Supports business development efforts by providing clinical expertise for proposals and client engagements. Collaborates with operations leadership to ensure efficient delivery of occupational health services across all locations. Supports budgeting, staffing models, and resource allocation to optimize program performance. Ensures alignment between clinical operations and contract requirements, including service-level agreements. All services shall be provided by established standards, principles, and professional ethics, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high standard for which Vighter is recognized. All Health Care Providers will document care delivered and follow-up care required. Unshakeable adherence to quality and continuous process improvement. An apolitical, patient-centered focus that drives to enhanced care and patient satisfaction. Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time. Education Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. Board certification in Occupational Medicine, or eligibility with a commitment to obtain certification. Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Texas. Qualifications Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Demonstrated experience in occupational health program management and regulatory compliance. Must have and maintain certification in Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based medicine. Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player. Knowledge and Skills Must have exceptional customer service skills. Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently. Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with limited supervision. Excellent organizational, scheduling and prioritization skills. Duty Hours / On-call Requirements The expected duty hours for this position are 6 hours per day and 3-5 days per week. Location: Fort Worth, TX Travel As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Commuting is non-compensatory. All official travel is government funded. Competitive salary or 1099 rate. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day. Must be willing to work overtime if necessary. Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet. Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders. Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment. Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation. Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS). Must be a Citizen of the United States or legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
