Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath LAB

Job Title Registered Nurse – Cath Lab Team Responsibilities Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Works closely with Cath Lab patients ensuring their comfort and informing them of what will take place. Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to perform duties of the CNA, MA or LPN or other nursing staff on occasion. Attends and participates in staff meetings, in‑service, projects and committees as assigned. Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas. Works scheduled shifts including overtime, as necessary. Accepts all call schedule as directed. Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance with the existing dress code. Education Associate's degree is required. BSN preferred. Required Skills Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Current and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee.
