Job Description: Physical Therapist (Inpatient and Outpatient Opportunities)

Location: Tyler, TX

Shift: Day, Full Time

Summary:

The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating, and implementing physical therapy care for assigned patients. This role ensures that all treatment and care provided align with the standards of the Physical Therapy Practice Act and professional best practices. The Physical Therapist provides technical therapy care, supplies, equipment, and interventions to meet the individualized needs of each patient.

Responsibilities:

• Collects and reviews relevant patient information from medical records and other healthcare providers; consults with physicians as needed.
• Independently assesses patients across various conditions and functional levels.
• Identifies additional needs during evaluations and exercises sound judgment when requesting, scheduling, or conducting further assessments or tests.
• Interprets assessment results and develops measurable, realistic, and attainable treatment goals.
• Reassesses patient progress regularly in accordance with department policies and regulatory standards, or as clinical needs arise.
• Recommends appropriate equipment and educates patients and families on its use and care.

Requirements:

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent professional degree
• Current and valid Physical Therapy license in the state of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
