Accountant/Bookkeeper
Scheulen Patchett Edwards
Established in 1983, Scheulen Patchett Edwards is a well-known accounting firm in Warrenton, Virginia. Our team values accuracy, efficiency, and strong client relationships.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper with experience in both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients
- Perform bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Manage and maintain general ledger entries
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
- Process payroll and payroll tax filings
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Collaborate with accountants to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and resolve discrepancies
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a genuine care about their work (takes ownership), the firm, and other team members
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with multiple client accounts
