As a Wastewater Lead Lab Technician ,you’lljoin a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in Oklahoma City, OK you'llperform analytical procedures used in the testing of samplespertaining towater and/or wastewater, treatment planteffluentand various surface waters to include sample preparation, sampling, and analysis of compliance and process control samples. In this role, you’ll operate, maintain, and calibrate instruments and equipment for laboratory analyses and must apply advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of chemistry, biology, microbiology, and mathematics required in an analytical laboratory; use standard laboratory practices and QA/QC procedures and help maintain laboratory accreditation. In addition,you’llprovide technicalassistanceto other areas of the lab andcontribute to the process control function of the treatment facility. The Lead Lab Technician will perform chemical,bacteriological,and physical laboratory tests for the water recycling facility. This includes preparation of analytical standard solutions and reagentsutilizedfor analyses. Supervise and provide day-to-day guidance to Laboratory Technicians, ensuring compliance with testing procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Continually review and scrutinize standardized procedures and methods used in analyses. Willoperate, calibrate,maintain, andtroubleshootlaboratory instrumentation as needed. The Lab Technician may be assigned to special projects that may require coordination with other departments. Participates in shared responsibilities tomaintainlaboratory programs including quality assurance, safety, and training. Related duties include periodic training of operations personnel on field equipment, analyticaltechniques,and quality controlprocedures. Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions Must be familiar with EPA and Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater methods. Must understand and follow the quality control requirements of the regulatory agencies in Mississippi Ability to scrutinize analytical data at a higher level and make sound decisionsregardingproper laboratory operation; able to clearly present information and data both orally and in reports. Must be able to make chemical solutions, perform standard chemical calculations, and perform routine mathematical and statistical calculations. Must be familiar with Windows operating systems, have knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access), and a Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS). Ability to work effectively in a team-based organizationrequired; work effectively with others in solving problems; willing to accept suggestions from team members, and offerexpertiseas needed. Ideally,You’llAlso Have High School Diploma or equivalent Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field from an accredited university or college Must have advanced knowledge of laboratory tasks, techniques, equipment, and terminology used in environmental laboratories. Working knowledge of the basic principles and practices of chemical,physicaland microbiological analysis of water and wastewater Knowledge of the operation of advanced laboratory equipment isrequired. General knowledge and principles of advanced analytical instrumentation such as IC, TOC analyzer, and ICP. Ability todemonstrateeffective communication skills, including listening skills.
