Skill Job Description: Assists physician in performance of all cardiovascular procedures, demonstrating competency in all positions (scrub, monitor and float). Analyzes and interprets collected procedural data, provides effective patient care at all acuity levels. Assists in precepting new employees and students to departments organization and function. Maintains inventory and charges appropriately for procedures, performs all procedures per protocol, participates in quality assurance and performance improvement programs as requests. Equitable participation in call coverage required.

Age Appropriate Competency: The employee is able to demonstrate general competency in providing Age Appropriate Care as indicated by the ability to plan, provide and evaluate care based on the physiological, psychosocial, intellectual and safety developmental needs of the patient. Utilizes appropriate processes and documents in accordance with TJC and other regulatory standards for each patient admitted, transferred or discharged for the invasive procedural area. Demonstrates ability to provide comprehensive care to patients. Demonstrates the ability to function in all roles (scrub, monitor, and circulate). Function as a qualified team member (QTM) in the administration of moderate sedation under the direct supervision of the physician where applicable. Provides care in compliance with establish policies, procedures and standards of care. This may include administration of medications, contrast, starting IV's. IV fluids under the direction of the physician or nurse as prescribed or indicated by the patient's condition and or physician orders. Enters patient data in the angiographic archival system and operates/ monitors digital x-ray acquiring system. Operates equipment in accordance to industry standards and patient safety Accurately records and charges in the electronic medical record.

Licensing/Certification: BLS Basic Life Support, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS or PALS required based on specialty assignment) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (required) Education High School Diploma (required) Work Experience None required Training None

Patient Population: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age, specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.

Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials.
