Help Seniors with Rides

Become a volunteer and help seniors maintain their health and well-being by assisting them with rides to medical related appointments. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule. Volunteers can select rides based on availability and preferred geographic area. Mileage reimbursement is available as well! Transportation is one of the highest needs of seniors in our community. When a senior is no longer able to drive because of physical limitations, vision changes or side effects of medications, they can often feel stuck and isolated. Volunteers can help make a difference in a senior's life by providing that lifeline to access medical care, and enjoy a friendly conversation on the way! Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes Time Commitment: 3 rides each month, if possible. No minimum requirement. Onboarding Process: Application, virtual orientation, background check, driving record check, interview and references. Attire: Casual and appropriate. Physical Requirements: Volunteers may help lift a cane or walker into the vehicle. Required Skills/Experience: Volunteers must have their own vehicle and a good driving record. Desired Skills/Experience: Volunteers should have an interest in helping others and the ability to be patient. Location: This opportunity involves driving a senior to medical appointments from their homes. Details will be provided prior to each ride.
