Assistant Program and Outreach Director (Activities Assistant)The Neighborhood at Vestavia Hills is seeking an Assistant Program and Outreach Director (Activities Assistant) to join their team!Shift Details: 8:30am to 4:30pmActivities: Mon-Fri; Every other weekend requiredThe Assistant Program and Outreach Director reports directly to Program and Outreach Director.The Assistant Program and Outreach Director is responsible for assisting in the day to day delivery of resident centered activities that promotes and integrates the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy to incorporate wellness in all aspects of the seniors' lives we serve. Ensuring all dimensions (emotional, sense of purpose, physical, social, intellectual and spiritual) are incorporated into the services we provide and embrace.Responsibilities:Activities:Refers to the Resident Profile and addendum for every new residentAssist with facilitating a variety of appropriate and personalized activities which incorporates all dimensions wellness and are available throughout the day and evening with resident care associate participationUnderstands the recognition of resident changes in condition, takes appropriate actionAssist residents to and from activity room(s) when necessaryIn memory care assist the residents to and from Life Skills and other normalizing life enriching activities and routine and assist with engagementReviews, reads, notates, and initializes communication log to document and learn about pertinent information and any resident's physical and behavioral changesMaintains activity areas in an orderly mannerAs applicable, assist with the delegation of daily care of any animal and or plants within the activities program and services, as well as maintenance of records related to this careAssist in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and craftsEducation/Experience/Licensure-Certification:Activities:Education: High School Diploma, and job related experience preferred in a senior living community.Ability to lead activities and motivate volunteers and fellow associates for their involvement in the social events and various scheduled social activitiesKnowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care preferred
