Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Shift start 6:45 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across all phases of the LDRP unit, including labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum — managing patients from start to finish
• Circulate C-sections and assist in OR suites on the unit; all RNs are required to be able to circulate cesarean sections
• Titrate drips including Pitocin and manage high-acuity patients with diagnoses such as preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, hypertension, and cesarean sections
• Float to Mother/Baby (MB) unit as needed; mid-shift float to other area facilities is rare but possible
• Read and interpret EKG strips for patients in the PACU as required
• Respond within 30 minutes when placed on call; expected to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's), with holiday time-off requests considered on a case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Experience with GE Corometric monitors and Fetalink fetal surveillance systems
• Familiarity with AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines (1:3–4 couplets, 1:1–2 labor and delivery, 1:1–3 antepartum)
• Comfort with the NRP "Baby Catcher" role, which may be assigned for an entire shift
