Automotive Assistant Service Advisor

Vista Ford Toyota of Delta is looking for a motivated, customer-focused individual to join our service department as an Assistant Service Advisor . This is a hands-on, entry-level advisor role for someone who wants to build a long-term career in automotive service—without needing prior advisor experience on day one.

You'll work alongside our experienced Ford and Toyota service advisors, learning the ropes of both brands' processes while playing a critical role in keeping our service drive running smoothly every day.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with checking customers in and out at the service drive, ensuring a smooth and professional experience from arrival to pickup
• Learn Ford and Toyota manufacturer processes for warranty claims, recalls, and factory service procedures
• Shadow and support our lead service advisors to learn appointment scheduling, write-ups, multi-point inspections, and customer communication
• Step in to cover the service advisor desk when advisors are out for PTO, sick days, or other absences — keeping the department fully staffed and customers taken care of
• Help manage repair order accuracy, parts coordination, and status updates for customers
• Build product knowledge across both the Ford and Toyota lineups
• Support the team with general service department duties as needed

Growth Opportunity:

This role is built as a launching pad, not a dead end. As you gain experience and product/process knowledge, there is a clear path to grow into:

• A full-time, main-line Service Advisor (Ford or Toyota)
• A Ford Mobile Service Advisor , bringing service directly to customers

We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us — this position is designed to develop into one of those roles as you're ready.

Compensation:

• Target base commission income of $45,000/year
• Commission structure tied to overall service department performance — as the department grows, so does your paycheck
• Full training provided on both Ford and Toyota systems and processes

What We're Looking For:

• Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help customers
• Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable stepping into different roles/duties as needed day-to-day
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced service drive
• Prior automotive, customer service, or retail experience is a plus, but not required
• A team-first attitude — this role exists to support the whole department
• Willingness to learn manufacturer-specific systems (Ford and Toyota warranty/recall platforms)
