Plant Manager

Salary: $120,000 (plus performance-based bonus) Overview We are partnering with a well-established industrial operator to recruit a Plant Manager to oversee a high-output aggregates facility in the Colorado Springs area. This site produces crushed stone, sand, and gravel, supporting a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects. This position calls for a proactive leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational oversight. The successful candidate will take full ownership of site performance, safety initiatives, and team leadership, ensuring the facility consistently meets production, quality, and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities Promote and maintain a safety-first environment by upholding all company policies and regulatory requirements, with a goal of zero workplace incidents Lead regular safety briefings, audits, and on-site inspections to reinforce compliance and accountability Ensure adherence to environmental standards, including permits related to air quality, water management, and land restoration Direct daily production activities such as crushing, screening, and material processing to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime Create and execute production and mining plans, including extraction sequencing, stripping, and reclamation efforts Partner with quality teams to guarantee all materials meet required specifications and quickly resolve any deviations Manage plant budgets, focusing on cost control, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives Contribute to capital planning and oversee implementation of equipment upgrades and site improvements Align production output with customer demand through effective inventory and logistics coordination Establish and maintain preventative maintenance strategies to ensure optimal equipment performance Oversee plant shutdowns for maintenance, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective execution Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and plant personnel, supporting performance growth and workforce engagement Serve as a liaison with local stakeholders, community representatives, and regulatory agencies Qualifications Education High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required Experience 5+ years in aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial operations At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity Core Skills In-depth understanding of workplace safety standards and regulatory compliance Familiarity with aggregate production processes and equipment Strong mechanical knowledge, including maintenance practices Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving abilities Solid business acumen with budget management experience Clear communicator with strong leadership presence Ability to manage teams, resolve conflicts, and drive performance Highly organised with strong time management skills Detail-focused and results-driven Knowledge of quality assurance processes within industrial environments Base salary: $120,000 per year Performance-based bonus opportunity Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Health savings and flexible spending accounts Life and disability coverage 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Employee wellness and assistance programs Training and educational support Employee discount programs Equal Opportunity Employer We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
