CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist

Position Overview Check all associated application documentation thoroughly before clicking on the apply button at the bottom of this description. - Department: Respiratory - Schedule: Full Time Nights, 7p-7a, Every 3rd weekend - Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's East - Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. - Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis. - Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities. - Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes. - Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs. - Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Processe equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures. - Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Licensed Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. - Certified Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: - Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy. Additional Preferences No additional preferences.
