Job Description and Duties

This position is eligible to telework up to one (1) day a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

The Office of Risk and Insurance Management is seeking an Analyst II to support the Motor Vehicle Claims Program as an Auto Liability Claims Analyst. In this role you will investigate and adjust auto liability claims involving state employees who are involved in auto accidents during the course and scope of employment and will work collaboratively with the Attorney Generals Office and Caltrans Legal to resolve litigated claims made against state departments.

Under direction of the Supervisor I in the Office of Risk and Insurance Management (ORIM), Motor Vehicle Claims Unit, the Analyst II investigates and negotiates settlement of the more varied and complex tort liability and physical damage claims in accordance with state laws and regulations, DGS guidelines, ORIM operating procedures and various State Administrative Manual sections.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

This position may require travel.

Special Requirements
