Position Summary The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in supporting children and adolescents with medical and behavioral health needs. Working under the supervision of licensed nurses, the PCA provides daily care, emotional support, and structure within a safe, therapeutic environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, patient, and passionate about helping young people heal and grow. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision for pediatric patients, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, feeding, transfers, and grooming. Observe, monitor, and accurately document patients' behavior, affect, participation, and vital signs. Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing environment consistent with trauma-informed care practices. Support therapeutic and educational programming, recreational activities, and behavioral interventions. Assist in the implementation of individualized care and behavioral support plans under clinical direction. Respond to patient crises using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques to ensure safety. Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, pediatricians, psychiatrists, and behavioral specialists to ensure integrated and compassionate care.
