Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of adult acute care ICU and ventilator experience for a night shift hospital position.

Job Details

• Work in the Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit,
• Adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric patient populations,
• Level II basic nursery utilizing bubble CPAP and short-term mechanical ventilation,
• Uses Hamilton and Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM,
• Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required,
• No on-call requirements,
• No floating required outside of scope,
• EPIC charting system required,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required,
• RRT certification required,
• BLS certification required,
• NRP certification preferred,
• State license required if applicable,
• EPIC charting experience required,
• Adult acute care ICU and ventilator experience required,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred,
• Prior travel assignment experience required,
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway management,
• Care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy,
• Neonatal/pediatric respiratory care including bubble CPAP, CPAP/BIPAP, and high-risk delivery assistance,
• Perform bedside bronchoscopy and chest physiotherapy including vest therapy,
• Ceil blue scrub color required,
• First-time travelers are not accepted,
• Candidates must complete OSHA Respirator Clearance and Fit Testing prior to start, which requires shaving for proper mask seal,
• CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided and personal use is not permitted; no medical or religious exemptions accepted,
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning,
• Local candidates within 70 miles are not accepted,
• Requests for time off should be submitted in advance, with holiday and weekend rotation participation required
