Position Summary: Drive a transit mixer truck to deliver concrete mix and other related construction products to job sites. $2500 Hiring Bonus!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Abiding by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
• Performing a pre and post-trip safety check (walk around inspection) on equipment and the truck to assure a safe vehicle. Documenting any maintenance that may be required.
• Filling fuel and water tanks. Recording fuel and interstate mileage on Form 75.
• Maintaining log book and other records to meet DOT and company regulations.
• Backing or driving truck under loading hopper, preparing mixer to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and starts mixer. Following guidelines and instructions by plant personnel and plant foreman.
• Driving truck to designated job site for unloading. Delivering and unloading concrete support products as needed. Distinguishing between safe and unsafe conditions at the job site, in traffic and throughout plant areas. Communicating information by use of the radio.
• Assembling concrete chute and attaching chute to the back of the truck. Controlling appropriate levers on truck to discharge concrete according to specifications from the contractor into a conveying device or directly into forms.
• Cleaning truck after unloading and preparing truck for return to plant. Replacing chutes on truck and making certain everything is secure and safe for travel. Maintaining functionality and appearance of truck and equipment using truck cleaning compounds and wearing PPE according to company policy.
• Referring customer complaints, equipment problems, job site concerns, traffic problems and product concerns to supervisor.
• Recording information as directed on shipping tickets, equipment logs, timecards and other assigned records.
• Performing minor routine maintenance to assigned vehicle daily or as needed (check tire pressure, lube ring on mixer drum, check all fluid levels i.e. coolant, fuel, oil).
• Assisting other areas--repair/maintenance in the plant area, yard clean-up, pallet repair and other duties as assigned when the workload is light.

Position Requirements and Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a Class B CDL or will train to get Class B CDL during onboarding.
• Must have a valid NE driver's license and able to meet insurability requirements of the company insurance program.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, city directories, Trakit GPS device, road maps, load tickets, SDS sheets and memos.
• Must meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements and carry a physical exam card, which is to be kept current according to DOT guidelines.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule during busy season. Must be able to work late or irregular hours.
• Previous knowledge of construction and construction products is helpful.

Working Conditions:

• The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• Using the ladder mounted on the mixer, climb to a height of 12 feet 50 times per day.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
• Must be able to lift, place and set warehouse products as required during load preparation, loading and unloading.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Must wear protective devices as required by the company safety policy in the performance of the job.
• The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions (may be extreme hot/cold), wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts, minimal amount of non-hazardous dust daily and fumes or other possible airborne particles.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to high and precarious places which require the agility to maintain balance.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud to very loud. May be vibration from equipment.
