About Doctible
Doctible is on a mission to reimagine the Patient Experience from start to finish. As part of the PracticeTek family, we give healthcare practices the tools to connect with patients in ways that feel simple, seamless, and human. From online scheduling and two-way texting to reputation management, reminders, and surveys, our platform makes every interaction effortless. The result? The Product Manager of Patients will own the discovery, definition, delivery, and continuous improvement of patient-facing product experiences. Partnering closely with engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders, this role will translate patient and practice needs into clear product decisions, high-quality launches, and measurable business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Here’s how you’ll help us bring our mission to life and show up as a Trusted Partner:
Product Execution: Define, Build, and Launch Exceptional Products
- Feature Specification: Gather and synthesize requirements from patients, practices, stakeholders, product data, and technical partners. Translate those inputs into clear specifications for major features, including goals, functionality, user flows, acceptance criteria, dependencies, edge cases, and success measures. Select the right format and level of detail for each initiative—using written specifications, designs, comps, or working prototypes—and proactively gather feedback throughout the development process.
- Product Delivery: Partner closely with engineering, design, data, and other cross-functional contributors to iteratively deliver patient-facing functionality that accomplishes clearly defined goals. Negotiate scope and implementation decisions, make thoughtful trade-offs between speed, quality, and user value, and escalate decisions when broader leadership input is needed.
- Product Quality Assurance: Own the quality and launch readiness of the patient experiences within your product area. Identify and prioritize technical, functional, usability, and business issues across applicable devices, workflows, and use cases; evaluate how related features may affect one another; and organize broader testing or bug-hunt efforts when necessary to support a high-quality release.
Customer Insight: Understand and Fulfill Customer Needs
- Fluency with Data: Use PracticeTek’s product analytics and reporting tools to identify opportunities, establish baselines, set realistic goals, evaluate product performance, and answer ad hoc business questions. Turn quantitative insights into actionable product recommendations before, during, and after product development.
- Voice of the Customer: Determine when patient or practice feedback is necessary to support a product decision and select the research method best suited to the question, including usability testing, interviews, focus groups, surveys, or other feedback channels. Partner with the appropriate teams to execute research, synthesize findings, and translate customer insights into prioritized product improvements.
- User Experience Design: Work closely with design to define and deliver intuitive, accessible, and consistent patient experiences. Independently assess product designs, identify specific opportunities for improvement, articulate possible solutions visually when helpful, and use established PracticeTek patterns and relevant market examples to guide effective design decisions.
Product Strategy: Deliver Business Impact Through Product Innovation
- Business Outcome Ownership: Connect patient-facing product functionality to the strategic objectives of the Patients team, the broader product organization, and PracticeTek. Define measurable goals for each initiative, own commitments from planning through post-launch analysis, proactively communicate when commitments are at risk, and recommend next steps based on results and learnings.
- Product Vision and Roadmapping: Help define and communicate a clear vision for the patient product experience. Build and maintain a prioritized roadmap of features and initiatives that advances that vision, connects near-term delivery to broader team goals, and reflects opportunities identified through data, research, customer needs, and business priorities.
- Strategic Impact: Develop a strong understanding of PracticeTek’s strategic direction and identify how the Patients product portfolio can meaningfully contribute to it. Support market research, conduct competitive analysis of relevant patient products and features, and translate strategic insights into recommendations that improve the roadmap and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Influencing People: Rally Teams Around the Work
- Stakeholder Management: Proactively identify the stakeholders affected by current patient initiatives and planned follow-on work. Build alignment across product, engineering, design, customer-facing teams, business leaders, and other partners; incorporate relevant requirements and feedback into product decisions; recommend a clear path forward; and escalate unresolved decisions when necessary.
- Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day product leadership for the development squad by establishing clear goals, creating shared context, supporting effective decision-making, and helping the team move work to completion. Contribute positively to team culture and camaraderie while demonstrating cross-functional and matrixed leadership across the organization.
- Managing Up: Communicate product status, progress, decisions, risks, and outcomes clearly to your manager and senior leaders. Surface blockers early, set accurate expectations regarding scope and delivery, seek feedback throughout the product lifecycle, and effectively leverage leadership support to resolve issues and improve product and business outcomes.
How Success is Measured
- Here’s how we’ll know you’re making an impact and raising the bar:
- Backlog health and readiness: Product backlog is clearly prioritized, well-groomed, and ready for upcoming sprint planning, with acceptance criteria defined for committed work.
- Delivery execution: Assigned product initiatives are delivered against agreed timelines, requirements, and KPIs, with risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs communicated early.
- Cross-functional alignment: Engineering, design, QA, and stakeholder teams have shared clarity on product scope, priorities, and expected outcomes throughout the development lifecycle.
- Product quality and value: Released features meet defined customer needs, business goals, and quality expectations, with measurable impact tracked after launch.
- Agile execution effectiveness: Sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, stakeholder reviews, and delivery planning are facilitated with clear communication, strong follow-through, and minimal ambiguity.
What You Bring
Your unique talents are what make you shine. For this role, success looks like:
- Two (2) to five (5) years of product management experience owning major features or a defined product area from discovery through launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Demonstrated ability to define complex functionality in clear, actionable specifications, selecting the appropriate level of detail and using user flows, comps, prototypes, and acceptance criteria when needed.
- Strong analytical fluency and experience using product analytics and ad hoc analysis to uncover opportunities, establish realistic goals, evaluate product performance, and make informed recommendations.
- Experience selecting and applying appropriate customer research methods—including usability testing, interviews, focus groups, or surveys—and translating feedback into product and user experience improvements.
- Proven ability to lead engineering, design, and business partners without relying on direct authority, including influencing roadmaps, making scope and trade-off decisions, managing stakeholder expectations, communicating with senior leaders, and escalating risks proactively.
