Department : 85271 Cabarrus College of Health Sciences - Academic Medical Education: Biomedical Sciences Status : Full time Hours Per Week : 40 Benefits Eligible : Yes Pay Range : $28.55 - $42.85 Position Overview Expected to teach Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Candidate must hold a Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry. Essential Functions Work closely with the program chair to review and update the curriculum to be relevant. Teach and facilitate student learning; teaching activities may occur online or face-to-face in a classroom, clinical, lab, or fieldwork setting. Build degree programs that embody coherent courses of study and allow students to progressively build upon and integrate their knowledge and skills. Develop knowledge of pedagogy, academic discipline, and as appropriate, clinical profession including scholarship activities. Contribute to the improvement of the College community through service to the College and broader community. Education, Experience & Certifications Documents a high level of competence in teaching and related activities. Minimum of a Master's degree in Chemistry required, or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in the discipline; concentration depends upon needs of the Program. Minimum of 3 years of full-time instructional experience required. Must have the mathematical and scientific ability to accurately formulate various solutions, buffers, and chemical mixtures for instructional purposes. Qualifications or certifications that include expertise in chemical hygiene, regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, EPA, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO)) and knowledge of advanced analytical instrumentation will be advantageous. Compensation & Benefits Base compensation within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.
