Coast Guard 2401 Hawkins Point Road Baltimore, MD 21226, USA This position is located in Baltimore, MD and is for a Custodial Foreman role at the US Coast Guard. The position will be from Monday-Friday 1:30pm - 10:30pm and the hourly rate of pay is $28.93. Introduction Incumbent is responsible for planning the daily schedule of the custodial crew and supervising their work to ensure all contract specifications are met to the highest standards. Responsibilities Plan the daily work activities of the crew and assign specific duties to each worker. Supervise the crew members to ensure that the assigned work is performed in a satisfactory manner. Inspect assigned area/buildings to ensure the scheduled work has been completed. Instruct crew members in required cleaning techniques, new methods and procedures, and equipment use and care. Readjust work assignments to accomplish special assigned work or ensure completion when a crew member is absent. Maintain inventory of all assigned equipment and supplies; order new equipment and supplies in accordance with established procedures and issue the items to crew members. Maintain attendance records and prepare and submit crew members' timesheets. Schedule and approve vacations for crew members. Maintain laundry records at locations where uniforms are worn. Resolve crew members' problems or refer matters to supervisor. Maintain contact with the parents/guardians of all developmentally disabled crew members to ensure they are familiar with the work schedule and conduct required of the workers. Attend weekly custodial meetings and in-services to keep abreast of the latest equipment, supplies and techniques within the industry. Conduct time trials to determine employment productivity. Conduct other administrative duties as required. Supervision Received: The incumbent is supervised by the Site Supervisor. Supervision Exercised The contract services custodial foreman supervises the work activities of designated crews. Physical Qualifications The incumbent must be able to stand 80% of the work time and sit 20%, lift/carry 50 pounds, push/pull 50 pounds. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel and reach to climb stairs and clean high and low areas. Must be able to speak and hear, have good vision and depth perception. Qualifications Two (2) years experience in custodial work required, with one (1) year supervisory experience. Prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals preferred. Good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work flexible hours with some week-ends and holidays. Pass security clearance.
