Forklift Operator/Material Handler

This is 1st shift 7:00am-3:00pm.

The primary result expected from this position is to perform production and internal movement of materials, as well as warehousing duties, pack required parts into boxes or containers, wrap product, check for labels and quality and load and unload trucks as required.

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling operations, operating various types of heavy equipment, and ensuring the safe and accurate movement of goods throughout the warehouse. Duties

• Operate forklifts safely to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
• Perform order picking using various equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Manage warehouse inventory through proper stacking, storage, and retrieval of materials in accordance with warehouse management system (WMS) protocols
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and preparing items for dispatch
• Conduct routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs to ensure machinery operates safely and effectively
• Support warehouse distribution operations by organizing materials for shipment and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve overall warehouse workflow

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, in a warehouse environment
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
• Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining proper safety techniques
• Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying shipments accurately
• Warehouse experience including shipping & receiving, order picking, and distribution processes
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
