Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher working with a focused caseload at the middle school level. In this role, you’ll provide dedicated support to a group of 7 students in grades 6 through 8, ensuring each child receives the individualized instruction and care necessary for their success. You will be working in a collaborative environment where Instructional Assistant support is available, and benefit from up to 40 paid hours weekly, including planning periods, allowing you to fully engage in lesson development and student preparation.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience or strong interest in working with middle school students, specifically grades 6-8
• Skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs
• Strong communicator, organized, and collaborative with colleagues
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to a caseload of 7 students
• Collaborate with the Instructional Assistant and related service providers
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, maintaining compliance and progress documentation
• Engage with parents and guardians, participating in meetings as needed
• Design engaging, accessible lessons in alignment with students’ needs and grade-level standards
• Utilize planning periods effectively for lesson preparation and student assessment
