Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Hays, KS | Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care/Stepdown unit with patient ratios of 1:4–5
• Perform IV starts and manage patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and intervention
• Participate in weekend rotation as part of the standard schedule
• Float to other units within scope of practice to support facility staffing needs as required
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech electronic health records system
• Expect to work some holidays as part of the assignment schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — pending licenses not accepted
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, including demonstrated IV start competency
• Meditech charting experience required
• Must live more than 45 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals not accepted)
• Must be available for a drug screen (negative 13-panel) within 30 days and complete lab requirements within 24 hours of signing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, Stepdown, or Intermediate Care setting
• Familiarity with Level 3 Trauma acute care hospital environments
• Flexibility with scheduling, including holiday coverage and limited time-off requests
